The Salvation Army

We are all familiar with the Red Kettles and Bell Ringers outside of shopping malls and grocery stores around the Christmas Holidays. The Salvation Army provides dozens of services to help individuals in the Springfield community experiencing hunger, illness, poverty, homelessness, and disaster.

Opportunity

Increase brand awareness in the summer months, and to increase donations and volunteer activity in the Winter.

Solution

ADsmith created the “Our Bells Never Stop Ringing” campaign to remind the public the services offered by the Salvation Army are year-round.  We created a video ad/commercial featuring Santa Claus in various recognizable Springfield summer hot-spots- The Zoo, The Springfield Cardinals Stadium, the pool, etc.

Results

The Salvation Army exceeded their goal with  $1,023,000 in donations and nearly 7,000 hours of volunteer bell ringing.  Our media schedule indexed at 125% and the value of Bonus Ads exceeded the actual cost of their media schedule.
