Angela Smith

Owner

Angela saw the pros and cons of business ownership firsthand as a child – from witnessing the end of her great-grandfather’s country store, to watching happy customers eat fried chicken at her grandmother’s café, to working at the family print shop from grade school through college. ADsmith came twenty years after Angela graduated summa cum laude from SMSU (now MSU) and landed a job writing radio commercials.

Within a few years, her copywriting skills caught the attention of an advertising agency where, in addition to writing, she helped win the local Coca-Cola Bottling Company account and learned the ins and outs of media analysis, negotiation and buying from Coca-Cola USA. The 10-year experience with Coca-Cola changed the trajectory of her career. Leadership positions in three other agencies followed, and in 2000, she opened ADsmith.

From a one-person agency, ADsmith grew into a community of passionate marketing professionals who collaborate to grow businesses of all sizes. Angela is a past recipient of the American Advertising Federation of the Ozarks’ Silver Medal Award for outstanding contributions to advertising, creative excellence, and responsibility in areas of social concern. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Springfield, the Springfield Executive Breakfast Club, and the Laura Ingalls Wilder Home & Museum and has offered marketing skills to dozens of non-profit organizations since opening ADsmith.
